Plot Two years after the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War , the moon begins to descend toward Earth . With the moon now a meteor that would destroy all the impact , Naruto has to deal with this new threat . Meanwhile, Toneri Ōtsutsuki , a descendant Hamura Ōtsutsuki determined to carry on his ancestor's legacy, comes and gets Hanabi Hyuga after failing to take advantage of Hinata , who tries and fails to give Naruto a personal gift of love - a red scarf , knit it in memory of a Naruto wore back in the Academy - in Konohagakure Winter Festival . Naruto, Hinata , Sakura , Sai , and Shikamaru are deployed to go and rescue Hanabi . Toneri returns and Hinata is captured as well , Naruto has to save them, not knowing that he is going to finally return feelings of Hinata .
At the end of the film screening in Japan , it was announced that a new movie with the son of Naruto Uzumaki Boruto , will premiere in summer 2015.
